I bought these directly from Merrell (they had come out the day I called them re: Chameleon Gore-Tex), and they were $7 cheaper, but that's irrelevant. Without a doubt, these are the most comfortable hiking shoes I've ever owned. From the moment I slipped them on, they were as comfortable as loafers. My concern was that they wouldn't give enough support, but the next day I walked 8 miles on some pretty steep hills and rocky trails, and they were fantastic. They didn't rub, and the soles and tread were just right.

These are half the weight of the Chameleon3 Gore-Tex Merrells which I'm still using for more difficult national park trails, in part because the Gore-Tex is waterproof. (But since these are shoe height, step in a stream more than 5" deep, and forget about the waterproofing.) Still, it was amazing that anything this light could provide such comfort and support. The sizing was perfect, something that I've only been able to say once before (and I have 4 pair of Merrells and 2 of Eccos). I'm certain that there will be another pair of these in my future.

One recommendation (not a complaint): There could be loops on the tongues because the tongue tends to roll under when you first put the shoes on. However, before you tighten the laces, there's room enough to slip a finger under and smooth the tongue out. Takes another second or two.

These are way more comfortable than Chucks and more stylish too. I'll definitely be buying a few more pairs .

Way more comfortable than converse. More old school charm and the epitome of cool. I'm gonna have to buy more pairs because i wear them every day now and am wearing them out! I love these!

Great shoes. I wanted converse, but have wide feet. These are a little bottom heavy, but don't hurt my feet at all and aren't narrow like converse - plenty of room. Perfect alternative!

I bought a pair of Converse All-Stars recently, and really wanted them to do well, but they just hurt my feet too badly - no support at all. I tried several different inserts, but it was hopeless. Then, after checking different websites for old style sneakers, I came upon the old PF Flyers. These look similar enough to the All-Stars - actually, I like the looks better - they have a more rounded look and a thicker looking sole. Anyway, the bottom line is that they actually have a supportive insole - I have been wearing them for several days now with no pain. I'll definitely be buying more of these in different colors! If you've given Converse a try and they didn't work for you, you should try PF Flyers - far superior!

I'm 68 years old and love wearing these as it takes me back to my grade school days. They're so comfortable and so fun to wear - all seniors should go back to them!

Not only are these shoes comfy they look good to, fit seems like cons. They arrived when they should have and look like the ones pictured.

Great casual shoe. Got lots of compliments but even better is there comfort. I have picky feet when it comes to comfort and these hit the spot!

I got the Men's size 14 in Navy Blue and they look, fit and feel better than converse chuck taylors (I have size 14 feet, and order size 13 in the chuck taylors - not PF flyer). I highly recommend this shoe, and will replace all my chuck taylors with PF flyers. Very comfortable and happy feet.

These shoes are so cute and very comfortable. They are true to size and I just ordered my regular women's size and the site told me it was a men's 7 1/2. I will be buying more of these in more colors. I just love them.
