This review is for the DC Men's Pure XE Lace-Up Skate Shoe. Although Amazon seems to have several shoes under the DC Pure XE style, they are all the same shoe on DC's own website.
This is a very good fitting shoe with a stiff sole.
DC Skate Shoes were designed from the beginning for those who are skateboarding. I needed a flat, stiff sole to maintain my balance when walking and this shoe fills that need. These wear well, each pair lasting between 6 and 12 months for someone that walks 3-5 miles each day.
The soles are thick and stiff enough that each rock or change in surface does not hurt the foot. Wearing these DC Pure XE shoes allows me to walk 3 to 5 miles a day, and work around the house. They are a very comfortable shoe, with great wear expectations.
I order these 1 size larger than I normally wear. They seem to run just a little small, and ordering a full size large works well. I find these shoes last longer than cheaper department store shoes, but I also walk quite a bit. When the shoes start to break down, my feet hurt.
I normally keep two pairs of these in use full time. I wear them on alternating days, and can wear them all day without my feet becoming too tired. I have not found a difference between colors of the Pure XE style, although some colors are too bright for this almost 60-year-old man.

It is hard to find the right size as the Castros are hardly found in stores right now. I used to buy them when i worked for Zumiez and realize that they are a bit smaller than the actual size. Great shoes though!!
Bought these recently and they've been a great, stable shoe. Solid footing and sized extremely well.
Had to go into hospital for an operation shortly after receipt and decided to throw these into my bag at the last minute. Smart move - they really helped when recuperating by walking the corridors trailing an IV stand. Maybe not the principle reason one might buy these, but maybe worth knowing. Just out of hospital today and one of the first things I'm doing is writing this review.
