In my quest for a simple, plain black shoe, I bought these.

I've been wearing them daily for well over a year, and they've held up great. Other brands of sneakers, even in their pricey leather iterations, would fall apart on me in a matter of months (usually the soul would start falling off). These also have the advantage of being a more simple design than allstars/purcell's. These are almost like a van's era with a MUCH better soul.
They also don't make my feet feel bruised if I'm on my feet all day like most other sneakers.

I'm finally starting to wear a hole in the side of the canvas, but I will probably still use these for a long time: they just keep looking better with age.

I got these in a half size larger than I normally wear, and its a perfect fit (I think they do run a bit small).
